Some Photos of My Timing Belt and Balance Shaft

This is an idea for a home built belt tension tool

REDESIGN 01-14-05

TOOL IN USE UPDATED 02-13-05

I tested this on my alternator belt and found that
12.5 foot lbs was the reading I got with the belt
tensioned up to where I think it should be.
I also noted that you can put the torque wrench on at any
angle and it does not seem to make a difference in the reading.

I also will probably change the bolts to smooth shank's but
it did make things easier as the threads
of the bolts gripped the belt
