MGB

We are in the process of replacing the transmission in a 1967 MGB. To make matters even "more fun" we are going to replace the stock 4 speed with an overdrive unit.

So far I think these are the problems that I will have to deal with.

First off.......The bell housing on the two transmissions are different. Specifically where the starter mounts up. I was looking on the OD Trans and it appears to be a unit that was made in 1972 since this is a 1968 several things will have to be changed
1. The end plate on the motor has to be replaced with a 1968 and newer unit.
2. The starter has to be replaced with a "modern" unit . (1968 and up unit)
3. The flywheel has to be replaced with a 1968 and up unit.

On the good side. I think that I can use the same clutch and pressure plate and well as the throw-out barring.

IF ANYONE HAS DONE THIS SWAP OR HAS KNOWLEDGE OF THE INTERCHANGEABILITY BETWEEN THE PRE 1968 AND POST 1967 TRANSMISSIONS, CLUTCH, FLYWHEEL, STARTERS,  END PLATES AND REAR MAIN MOTOR SEALS PLEASE CONTACT ME AT DSMITH@RADIO.FM

I also put together a couple of links to places that looked to be good sources of used parts. I Have no knowledge as to how good or bad these places are. If you have any recommendations of other sites or comments about these listed again please contact me at the email above.
