LOOKING THROUGH THE
AFM WITH THE DIRECTION OF THE AIR FLOW: NOTE THAT OBSTRUCTIONS AT THE TOP CORNERS HAVE
BEEN SMOOTHED AND BEVELED |
|
|
EXIT: NOTE THE
"CORNER" AND THE RIBS AND THE LIP ON THE LEFT HAVE BEEN REMOVED. THE
REMOVAL OF MATERIAL WAS TYPICAL AT ALL FOUR CORNERS AT THE EXIT OF THE AFM |

|
EXIT: TRANSITION TO
THE RIBS ON THE RIGHT HAS BEEN SMOOTH OUT |

EXIT:SMOOTHING AT
THE DUCT. THE LIB BELOW THE RIBS ON THE LEFT HAS BEEN REMOVED |

THE AREA THAT I
HAVE OUTLINED CAN BE REMOVED. I AM CONCERNED AS TO WHAT IT WILL DO TO THE AIR FLOW AT
IDLE. IT LOOKS LIKE MAZDA WENT TO ALLOT OF TROUBLE TO CAST THE DUCTING INTO THE EXIT
OF THIS PORT. |
|
|
LOOKING THROUGH THE
AFM AT THE AREA THAT WOULD BE REMOVED (ABOVE). AS YOU CAN SEE IT WOULD OPEN UP THE
EXIT OF THE AFM QUITE ALLOT. |
|
|
ANOTHER AREA THAT I
AM LOOKING AT SOME MORE REMOVAL OF ALUMINUM. I ALSO AM CONSIDERING THE REMOVAL OF
THE REMAINING RIBS BUT THEY APPEAR TO BE THERE FOR STRUCTURAL REASONS. |
